Atlas Preparatory School is expanding to include a new elementary school in Colorado Springs. iiCON Construction was selected as the best value for construction of the new Elementary, Multi-purpose Gymnasium, site development and Athletic Fields. iiCON Construction established the GMP and mobilized to the site for site development activities in August 2019. iiCON worked together with the school and Design Team to explore possibilities of both renovation to a newly purchased police substation and a ground-up school. These efforts allowed Atlas Preparatory School to make the critical decision to purchase an adjacent parcel and build a new facility rather renovate the existing building, in an effort to better support their longterm growth. We consistently collaborated to review the scope of work and construction methods to ensure the project met the funding requirements.

This project consisted of 37,072 sf of new construction utilizing a preengineered structure on a new 14-acre site. The Elementary school includes classrooms, multi-purpose cafeteria/gym space, Administration, offices, break-out rooms, and play fields. The Multi-purpose Gymnasium Building includes a large wood athletic floor, bleachers, storage, locker rooms, concessions, and offices to accommodate activities for students from Elementary through High School. A secured front door with full visual control and protected playgrounds enhance campus safety and security.
