HVAC System Replacement at Mitchell High School Colorado Springs School District 11 – Colorado Springs, CO
iiCON Construction was chosen by School District 11 to lead a comprehensive mechanical system replacement at Mitchell High School, a 253,000-square-foot facility serving over 800 students. Originally built in 1968, the building had undergone multiple upgrades, but its aging HVAC system had reached the end of its service life. Funded by a federal energy grant, the project involved the full replacement of the boiler system, rooftop units, cabinet heaters, VAVs, and related hydronic piping and electrical systems. Structural modifications were made to rooftop penthouses and curbs, including new boiler flues. The renovation also included architectural finish restoration throughout the school. Work was phased to minimize disruption, ensuring continuous school operations during construction.
